Individual Support
The Individual Projects Fund (IPF) is established for the purpose of assisting members of the Aboriginal Community who are beneficiaries of the Ely Trust to meet unforeseen and or burdensome costs associated with their general wellbeing. It is designed to provide assistance to disadvantaged beneficiaries and fill in ‘gaps’ left by other service providers.
Applications may be received for the following categories:
– Attendance at a sporting event
– School specification laptop
– School excursion / camps
– Cultural activities
– Purchase of whitegoods and furniture
– Medical equipment (e.g. wheelchair) and or costs associated with long term stays away from home due to medical reasons
– Outstation support
– Sad news / sorry business / tombstone opening
Application Process:
All applications must be submitted at least 21 days before a board meeting, and application forms should be sent via email to elygrants@elytrust.com.au.
It is at the Board’s discretion whether an application will receive funding.
Important:
For all approved IPF applications that are below the $3000 limit, any remaining balance is forfeited, and cannot be carried forward to future applications. Noting each application is considered separately.

Further Information
What is not included for whitegoods/furniture?
Smaller kitchen appliances such as rice cookers, blenders, kettles, and toasters are generally not considered white goods because they are portable items. Similarly, pots and pans, glassware and crockery, cutlery, linen, curtains, and similar items are not also classified as white goods. In addition, brown goods are not considered white goods, as they relate to entertainment and communication rather than household utilities. Brown goods typically include televisions, stereos, DVD or Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, radios, and computers.

Long-term stays information
The long-term stay relates to where a beneficiary is transported out of community and is required to stay in privately paid for accommodation after treatment due to the other health concerns lengthening the stay. Stays associated with the normal course of medical treatment will not be considered through this grant e.g. dialysis, chemotherapy.
The following are not considered through the grant as they relate to the normal course of medical treatment:
- Post-operative rehabilitation where inpatient or nearby accommodation is a planned part of recovery
- Radiation therapy requiring daily sessions over several weeks
- Regular antenatal or high-risk pregnancy monitoring that necessitates temporary relocation close to a hospital
- Scheduled surgical follow-up programs (e.g. staged orthopaedic procedures with planned stays).
These differ from long-term stays caused by unexpected complications or additional health concerns that extend accommodation needs beyond what would normally be expected for the treatment itself.
